Zebra Enterprise Devices

EasyTicketScan automatically installs a Data Wedge profile allowing you to configure exactly which barcodes can be scanned. Code 128, Code 39 and QR barcodes of any length are enabled by default.

Please consult the device’s user guide for more information.

Kiosk Mode

EasyTicketScan can be run in Kiosk Mode if required (full screen - no tool bars, status bars or menus etc.). Running the app in Kiosk Mode (also known as Screen Pinning) means the device is locked down and the user only has access to the EasyTicketScan app.

To run Kiosk Mode, you must be running Android version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Kiosk Mode is disabled by default so follow the below steps to enable it:

  • Launch the Settings app on your device
  • Scroll down until you find the Security option. Tap on it
  • At the bottom of the Security page tap on Screen pinning
  • Slide the switch to the “On” position.

Once Kiosk Mode is enabled follow the below steps to pin the EasyTicketScan app to the screen:

  • Open the EasyTicketScan app
  • Tap the “overview” button (the square button at the bottom of the screen)
  • If more than one app is open drag the title bar for EasyTicketScan up, until it’s in the middle of the screen
  • In the bottom-right corner of the app overview is a pin button, Tap on it
  • Once the user has confirmed the request to pin the app, it is in Kiosk Mode
  • To exit Kiosk Mode, press the “back” and “overview” buttons together
